Oxford Global Hackathon


– Project Description

As a group passionate about innovation in construction, architecture and building design, they invited 400 of the best minds to gather in 4 cities around the world to develop solutions for some of the most pressing challenges in the sector today.

Hackathon Challenge

Participants were tasked with developing a solution in one of three areas of focus: design, costing, or project management of the building construction process. 



Developed event strategy and generated a project plan

Designed event experience and finalized logistics

Created website and informational content

Generated branding materials and executed advertising campaigns

Utilized Hackworks platform for submission management, team assignment, and judging

Recruited judges, mentors, participants and speakers for all locations

Ran hackathon and provided support for a successful hack

Final Result

500 attendees in 50 teams from all walks of life and backgrounds participated in the weekend hackathon. With attendees’ outside perspective, many innovative and out-of-the-box solutions were presented.

Google Cloud Sprint

Google engaged Hackworks to help them connect with their enterprise clients in a more in-depth way, help them understand the capabilities of Google Cloud Platform, and to build deeper relationships between the client and Google’s team of engineers.

Capital One: Gift the Code

The Gift the Code hackathon is a Capital One Canada initiative to provide local charities with a tech boost in a creative and innovative manner. With Hackworks’ help, Capital One has connected with the tech community and has created a successful recruiting pipeline of developers, data scientists, and product designers.

TD Tech Jam

The TD Think Digital Tech Jam developed and executed in partnership with Hackworks provided a fun and safe environment to expose to expose TD employees to some of the new emerging technologies so they can see how they could be applied to meet the needs of TD employees and more broadly to the banking experience.
